"France was the only one of the four major eurozone economies - Germany, France, Italy and Spain - to see activity in the construction, services and manufacturing sectors decline, according to the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) survey conducted by Markit.
France's composite PMI, which represents private sector growth in a country, fell from 48 to 47.3 in December. A number over 50 indicates growth while any number below shows contraction."
